Acer goes 3D with new Aspire notebook
Want some 3D notebook action? Head this way
If you’re anything like us, new notebook announcements aren’t generally something that sets the pulse racing. But throw 3D into the deal and you may just have a different story.
That’s right – the otherwise innocuously named Acer Aspire 5745DG has one major headline feature setting it apart from the standard notebook rank and file – a 3D-capable graphics chip inside from Nvidia.
Of course, you’re sure to stand out yourself thanks to the need to wear Nvidia’s accompanying 3D active shutter glasses, but it’s still a price we’re always happy to pay for some 3D gaming jollies.
The rest of the spec is mighty impressive too, headed up by a choice of Intel’s i3, i5 or i7 dual-core processor, while you can wedge in up to 16GB or RAM too. Needless to say, the display is top-notch – a 15.6in, full HD, LED-backlit affair, and there’s an optional Blu-ray disc player to help you complete the entertainment trifecta.
Best of all, you can pick up the Acer Aspire 5745DG right now starting at a penny under £900 – though of course, start adding all those fancy extras and the price will quickly shoot up.
