Acer AT2356 Freeview display released

The Gadget Show  Monday 19 April 2010

Acer AT2356 Freeview display released Acer – Freeview thrown in

Acer has released the AT2356 – and it’s no mere flatscreen PC monitor – it’s also got a Freeview tuner and everything you need for it to become a lounge companion. In fact, Acer’s insisting it’s a “home display” rather than a lowly monitor.

The 23-inch Acer AT2356 is packing a full-HD LCD panel with a 5ms response time, plus two HDMI ports around the back for your set-top boxes and consoles. Acer is also shouting about its gamma correction and noise reduction features, for more vibrant and sharper images.

But most importantly it comes with a built-in Freeview tuner so you can access Freeview channels straight out of the box, making it a nice budget option for anyone looking for a TV and a computer screen in one.

Alongside the Acer AT2356, a 20-inch model has also been unveiled, the Acer AT2356, which packs the same specs and tuner. The Acer AT2356 display goes sale from 1 June, priced at £249.99, while the AT2056 hits on the same day for £199.99.

Instead of getting this, I would suggest Benq G2420HDBL and a Freeview recorder with HDD/DVD or both with HDMI.

Be better if it was a 3D TV with a HD freeview tuner, instead of just an old out of date freeview tuner in it. For what reason would i want to buy this? other than as computer or lcd tv 4 the bedroom. No way would many people want this in their lounge as a main tv.

This would be better if it was a 3D TV with a HD Freeview, the latter has yet to be announced if the UK are getting a DVB-T2 tuner to make use of its full HD, instead of just a now out of date freeview tuner in it. For what reason would i want to buy this? Well other than as computer monitor or lcd tv 4 the bedroom, i would not. Would many people want this in their lounge as a main tv? No as it is to small for many now & lacks connectivity
