Acer Aspire One getting Windows 7
Acer netbook spruces up its OS; promises brighter future for netbooks
After what seemed like a never ending stream of Acer netbooks, the laptop maker seemed to be on somewhat of a hiatus. We say seemed because now Acer has just unleashed a load of details on the new Windows 7-toting Aspire One!
Acer plans to start rolling out this newbie laptop when Windows 7 is launched on October 22. The big question is how does it fare compared to the older Aspire One? Well, apart from that updated OS, it’s the same old specs really: the usual Intel Atom processor, a familiar 160GB hard drive, uninspiring 3.5 hour battery life and a 10.1-inch 1280×720 screen.
Not impressed by the spec? Well consider the inclusion of Windows 7 as this netbook’s USP. It should take netbooks into a whole new realm after the duldrums of Windows XP.
There’s still no word on pricing or UK availability as of yet, but we’ll give you all the information as Acer reveals it!

I've currently got Windows 7 RC1 running on my Acer Aspire One and its ideal. Really quick and easy to use. Boot up time is also very quick. I think releasing them with pre-installed Windows 7 is a great idea and will be a very good selling point.

I Currently run crunchbang linux on my acer one it works perfectly i think all users should be given a choice of what to have installed, which will reflect on price and give people proper control of what is on their machine
