A Mercedes on your wrist
A Merc, on your wrist - amazing!
Scoring a whole heap of points on our desirable gadget-meter is this, the Silver Arrow Concept watch from French designer Fabien Cacheux.
It takes its name and draws its inspiration from German luxury car maker Mercedes, and not just any old Mercedes either – we’re talking the monstrously fast AMG SLS supercar, complete with its iconic gull wings.
The SLS’ wrist-bound equivalent looks like it means business, too, with the famous three-pointed star Mercedes logo taking pride of place in the centre of the watch face.
Its maker tells us that the case is mounted on a machined titanium neoprene bracelet that opens and closes in a way that pays homage to the gull wing doors of the sporty Benz.
But that’s not all, as the Silver Arrow Concept has one last trick up its perfectly machined sleeve: Open and Close buttons situated around the ring do exactly that – open and close the car remotely, leaving you to simply saunter up nonchalantly and take your seat.
There’s not a word on price, but it’s more likely to be five figures than four. And of course, once you’ve got the watch your next step is to start saving up for the car.
