These boots are made for walking...
Gordon’s alive! Jon’s teamed up with a man who’s almost as posh as he is, and knows a thing or too about walking, to test three of the latest pairs of technologically sophisticated walking boots a thorough road test. So who is this posh walker? It can only be Brian Blessed.
First up the duo got their feet nestled in the Hi-Tec V-Lite Altitude Ultras – the first boots to use nano technology to provide the ultimate in waterproofing. The ION mask tech chemically bonds a molecular compond to the boots in a vacuum chamber so every fibre becomes water-resistant. They’re also super-light and have soft cushioning too. But how will they measure up to the posh pair’s standards?
Next up are the Meindl Vakuum GTX that feature shock absorption, stretch Goretex lining, and a vacuum memory foam inside that reacts to heat to mould to the shape of your feet. But will Brian and Jon find them comfortable and can they keep the water out?
Finally the light-chassied Salomon Cosmic 4D GTX are protected by a breathable Goretex membrane. With more than a passing resemblance to ruggedised training shoes, they borrow tech from training shoes and are really tough. But can they stomp all over the competition?
Watch the video above for Brian and Jon’s verdict for the ultimate walking boots…
