Replacing a PS3 Original with a Wii not a Slim is just wrong! Use a PlayTV box instead of a seperate Freeview box will also save some cash. Plus we need a vote! !hich GS presenter would you most like to live with??

The best way to save energy is to leave things in standby! Turning a device off and on at the mains constantly kills it's reliability, eventually causing it to break down before it's time. Repair it or replace it, both will negate the energy saving and cost more than the energy that leaving it in standby would! I know, I see it all the time with the faulty TV, etc, that I have to pick up for repair and all the support calls where problems go away when standby is utilised properly.

I just watched the show with the electric cars, they look great for reducing emmissions from the actual vehicle but unless they are re-charged via a low emmission source (wind farm) then they would release more carbon into the atmosphere than a normal car as the average power station around 20 - 30% efficient buy the time we get the electricity out of the plug!!

In the 'saving energy' challenge, did you include the average yearly cost of replacing the equipment over its lifetime? I doubt that any of the items save their purchase cost over their lifetime, so it's not worth replacing something just to reduce consumption.. Suzi should have won the challenge!

so far in L.A theyve released a car that runs on just hydrogen ... thats superb not only will it ever run out its also cheaper and safer for the enviroment. electics cars could take up to a day to charge up fully and you havent always got that time to waste. with these cars you pull up to the special pumps and put the compressed hydrogen in ... cant wait till there released in the UK :)

Don't be deceived by some broadcasters who suggest leaving your set top box in standby mode is energy saving. If you check the power consumption you'll find there is barely any difference in the energy used whether it is in standby mode or not. Dont forget, if programs a are scheduled to be recorded whilst in standby they still leave the power on the the hard drive which is usually quite costly as it is the only component that has any real moving parts. The reality is if you want to save energy switch it off, everything is repeated anyway.

Is there a printer out there which only uses black ink? I have an old Canon printer from 1995 which I could buy a double black cartridge for around £30 and this would last me a year. I am a small user. I can no longer get the cartridges for it and will soon need to buy a new printer but they all seem to take at least one colour cartridge and I don't need colour. Colour seems an unnecessary expense. Perhaps I could use two black ones instead?

Does anyone think we should look at how many gadgets we go through each year? I've got a draw full of stuff that people have given me 'cos they just have to move on to the next thing! Any ideas? Should we hand down stuff to people who don't mind older tech?

The initiative taken for the concern is very serious and need an attention of every one. This is the concern which exists in the society and needs to be eliminated from the society as soon as possible. The people are loosing their moral while becoming modern. The society needs to be attentive that moral value. National Savings Premium Bonds
