Samsung Chromebook review: Your comments!
Last week we managed to play with Samsung’s new Chromebook – an affordable laptop with a completely revolutionary operating system. With all the apps running within the Chromebook’s web browser, we asked you what you thought of the idea. The response has been interesting.
Reader Dean Westray points out “Chromebooks are a good concept. The only downside is that they are very cloud-dependent. Once you lose your Wi-Fi/3G connectivity, you are limited to what you can do with it”.
That was also our concern, and with 3G and Wi-Fi connections still patchy at best, it feels like the Chromebook is a little before its time. Matt McKean agrees, stating “I’m a windows user, but I wouldn’t ditch my XP laptop for a Chromebook. They seem great for hopping online quick and all that jazz, but I agree with Dean. Once the connection’s gone, so is more than half of the main functionality”.
Dan Crackett remains unconvinced by the concept: “You may as well buy a cheap netbook, download Google Chrome and get a Google account, there you go, it’s magically transformed into a Chromebook only more functional.”
So, although some of our readers think the Chromebook is a good idea, it seems you guys are still unconvinced by the concept. One for the future, perhaps?
We’d still love to hear from you, so leave a comment below. Or head over to our Facebook page and join in the debate.

Found this review for the Samsung chromebook very useful. Also had a look at Trusted Reviews, some really good reviews on there for this product too. Take a look at the site.
