Roll back the years with Lomography 35mm gear

Roll back the years with Lomography 35mm gear Get your 35mm photography kicks

We have a special place in our gadgety hearts for retro gear, especially if they’re not just cosmetic copycats but fully functioning bits of kit.

So it’s safe to say Lomography gets a big thumbs up from us, making as it does a wide range of genuine 35mm film cameras – you know, just like they did in the old days.

And just in time for Christmas, there’s another pair of 35mm classic film snappers to tickle your analogue fancy, or make for a great gift for that retro-worshipping friend or loved one.

First up is the Diana Mini En Rose, which recalls the Diana camera first seen in the 1960s and closely resembles Lomography’s own Diana Mini, save for the bright pink paint job that gives it its name.

And just like the existing Diana Mini, all the flexibility of analogue photography is yours to enjoy, from retro-tastic soft focus, full control over how much light you let onto the frame and the ability to shoot squares or half frames.

Alternatively, for even more creative control, check out the Sprocket Rocket – the first ever camera to feature a reverse gear. That’s right – wind back the exposure and you can take the same shot all over again, or even a third or fourth time. Even better – you can even expose the camera’s sprockets on the image – hence the Sprocket Rocket’s name.

The sheer convenience of digital means ultimately we won’t be trading in our favourite compact or DSLR anytime soon, but for a quirky second camera, or purely for novelty value, the £99 Diana Mini En Rose or £79 Sprocket Rocket are sure to make the switch back to 35mm a journey worth taking.
