Vote: Sinclair C5 v Segaway
Walking is so overrated… or at least it used to be. That can be the only reason Dean Kamen and Sir Clive Sinclair decided to invent two gadgets that would make putting one foot in front of the other redundant. As it is they made two of the most iconic gadgets of recent times: The Segway and the Sinclair C5!
Who wouldn’t want to travel around on a Segway? These slightly bizarre-looking contraptions have five gyroscopic sensors and are kitted out with accelerometers so they can measure your “lean” and work out how fast to go. Pretty clever stuff. So clever in fact that it’s used by the Chicago police force, Swedish bomb squad and posh golfers who can’t be bothered to walk around the course!
Then there’s the Sinclair C5. A road-hugging vehicle that can reach speeds of up to 15mph! There’s no standing room here: it’s sitting all the way. Designed by legendary British inventor Sir Clive Sinclair, it has pedals and a 250W electric motor, which makes it road legal. The fact that only 17,000 were ever sold makes it iconic, but is it iconic enough to beat the Segway onto our Wall of Fame? Over to you Jon…
Didn’t like Jon’s verdict? Have your say and vote here…

Well present show, I own a C5 and think it a daily useable item, not just fun, though that is intergral to it! Medi coverage of my C5: http://lnk.ms/WDRy1 I am developing the C5 into something very different! So if the show is interested in what I do to it...please email me. Kindest regards, Jogga
