Suzi heads to Switzerland to check out some of the craziest cars around!

Cars. All they’re good for is getting from A to B, right? Wrong! It’s how you get there that that matters. That’s something that Swiss manufacturer Rinspeed knows, so I headed off to Switzerland – the land previously famous known for holey cheese and cuckoo clocks. Now, however, it’s famous for Rinspeed’s awesome concept cars…

Imagine if Disney, Spielberg and NASA got together to design cars. Rinspeed’s vehicles would probably be the result. The amazing thing about Rinspeed as opposed to other manufacturers is that rather than just designing concept cars, they actually make them. Unfortunately the cars aren’t actually for sale, but they are amazingly clever.

We’re talking about cars that can physically shrink by nearly a meter thanks to electric motors that allows you to park in those ultra-tight spaces. The Senso, meanwhile, has an onboard computer that can tell your mood via a sensor and a camera and adjust the car’s atmosphere accordingly, to keep you from being too stressed or relaxed.

Those don’t tickle your fancy? What about a car that can go underwater? Imagine James Bond’s underwater Lotus. Well, the Rinspeed Squba is one such car. There’s no roof, so you have to wear a mask and goggles. The controls used to drive the car on the road then operate four other electric motors for the propellors and depth thrusters. Awesome.

That’s not all though. If you want to find out what other crazy cars Rinspeed have created you’ll have to watch the video above…
