New iMac and Mac Pro coming today?
Today might be the day for Apple to out its new versions of the iMac and Mac Pro. There might even be a reworked Cinema Display and even the much-rumoured Magic Trackpad.
Stock of both the iMac and Mac Pro are claimed to be running low by eagle-eyed punters in the US. This is usually a sure sign that Apple is preparing to launch new mchines.
Reports suggest that although the Apple Store online is still showing the iMac and Mac Pro shipping, real high-street retail stores are reducing stock.
The new iMac will apparently see the arrival of USB 3.0 to Apple desktops. And according to Cupertino tipster John Gruber of Daring Fireball, a 27-inch Cinema Display Mac Pro and faster iMac “might hypothetically” be outed today.
He also claims it’s “doubly hypothetical” that the much-rumoured Magic Trackpad slate will also show up. Gruber has been consistently on the money with his predictions, so we’ll just have to wait until late today.

Who needs a trackpad on a desktop anyway? There's not sense of connectivty between the pad and the screen, even compared to using a laptop.
