Some of you may have noticed the unbelievable slew of mobile phone news that’s been flooding the Gadget Show website this week. That’s because Mobile World Congress is currently going on in Barcelona. It’s essentially the mobile phone world’s CES, where all the mobile phone companies worth their salt show off what mobile madness they’ve got planned for the coming year. Here is a quick summary, with three of the best phones that we’ve seen in Barcelona so far…

Best fashion phone: LG GD900 It’s transparent! How could you not love it? It looks a little like previous LG models (think the Shine), but when you slide the GD900 open to reveal a transparent keypad, you’re in style heaven! A chic caller to satisfy the chi-chi needs of the most ardent fashionista!

Best touchscreen phone: iHTC Touch Diamond 2 The sequel to the Touch Diamond, this handset has been one of the sexiest touchscreen-toting blowers unveiled at MWC to date. The 3.2-inch, 480×800 WVGA screen is so desirable you’ll be begging just to touch it.

Best camera phone: Sony Ericsson Idou If the Idou proposed to us, we’d say “I do”. That’s how much we love this Sony Ericsson offering. Not because of its looks (they’re not that great), but because this snap-happy blower boasts the world’s first 12-megapixel sensor. Awesome.
