Is the iPhone still the Big Apple?
There’s only one place to go to test whether the new iPhone 3G S has what it takes to stave off the latest crop of touchscreen handsets. That’s right, I’ve headed off to New York – the Big Apple (yes the link’s tenuous, but it got me a free trip Stateside) – to pit the iPhone against the Nokia N97 and Palm Pre.
So, first up Apple’s latest and greatest handset – iPhone 3G S. That S stands for speed, and it’s certainly speedier than previous models. Other extras include GPS, Wi-Fi, a 3.2-megapixel camera, plus this is the first iPhone to offer video.
Nokia’s high-end device, the Nokia N97, also has Wi-Fi and GPS, but complements it all with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that makes emailing as easy as breathing, and a five-megapixel camera with LED flash!
The Palm Pre, although not yet available over here until later this year, also has Wi-Fi, GPS, and a slick user-interface to rival the iPhone’s. It too has a 3.2-megapixel camera and LED flash, but no video capture.
So which of the three can profess to be king of the touchscreens? Check out the video for my final verdict. Or if you fancy your say, take our poll below…
