iPhone 4 bumper refund begins – have your say
Apple has started handing out its iPhone 4 bumper refunds today. Anyone who has previously shelled out for an Apple case will automatically receive a refund to their accounts.
Nearly a week after the iPhone 4 press conference where Steve Jobs announced Apple would be doling out free cases to soothe irked iphone 4 owners with antenna issues.
Apparently refunds are now headed automatically for bank accounts for anyone who purchased a bumper from Apple. The company has been sending email confirmation of refunds without punters having to contact them directly.
The bumper is still currently unavailable to buy on the Apple Store, but everyone who buys an iPhone 4 before the end of September is eligible for a free one.
Have you received your bumper refund yet? Has “Antennagate” put you off buying an iPhone 4? Let us know below…

Glad I didn't buy an iphone now, I use my phone in the car, mounted in a cradle, presumably with anysort of case this would not be possible.

"I highly recommend it to anyone :)"..............yeah anyone who has got money to burn and wants to tied to a contract for 18-24 months! Lets be truthful...the iphone 4 is a rip off, there are other phones on the market that do the same job as the iphone for half the price!!

i won't buy one till they get the problem sorted...why didnt they test it properly in the first place before releasing it? Apple have let us down!!

wayneg - calm down :) FYI I got mine on a 12 month contract (not 18-24 months as you say). I had an Android Hero before and the iPhone is better in pretty much every way imho. Certainly not a rip off - the quality of the software/hardware integration means it is easy to use and a pleasure to own. If you don't want one, don't get one, but everyone I know who has one absolutely loves it, hence my recommendation. Sami - if you visit YouTube you can see pretty much every smartphone exhibit the same antenna problems. I wish everyone would just chill out a bit ...

How have none of you had any problems? I bought it on launch date and with all of the issues I've been having with it it's defiantly put a dampener on my entire new-phone-joy experience. The signal death grip was one thing my phone was affected but just held it differently. The major problem however was the proximity sensor. Making calls STILL is a major problem, it can't detect my face and I end up hanging up, placing people on mute, putting them on hold dialling other contacts for a 3-way. The iPhone 4 itself for anything but calls is beautiful and I love it. The screen itself it the major highlight. Yet calling. I'm hoping the software update sorts it out because at the moment what with the sensor, people not hearing me endless failed calls I'll be booking a genius appt very soon for an exchange or refund.

I have friends with htc's and samsungs they all have problems with them (daily) htc's dropping calls and constant low signal strength, black screens, samsung the ever old story of software problems, signal strength, maybe some year they'll catch themselfs on and fix it? Sadly My experience with the iphone 4 has been brilliant, can i make the bars disappear yes i can after a bit of playing about, as with other smartphone's. But never had a call drop out on me etc, did i mention that i don't use a cover or bumper, why make the phone look ugly, although i've not had the call mute or hung up problem while making calls this is surely a simple software coding problem, however I wouldn't change this phone for the world. I would like to say good things about other phones, but really at the price of the competition of the iphone sadly not worth it and doesn't come close to it. All i need now is to have sky send a decent working router, one that works more than 3 weeks!!!!!!

I have the iphone 4 and have never dropped a call without the bumper case on or off so i can`t see wot the fuss is all about ...i did get the free bumper from apple and i`m very impressed with it lot better than the cheap one from a auction site ..dont know if i`d have paid the £25 apple were trying ro sell them for tho...As for the signal problem people are moaning about i beleave apple said the 3gs had the same problem but the press and owners did not pick up on it ..Ipone is faster, better looking, better camera, flash, front facing camera,Hd 720 recording and quality of the screen is amazing ...i`m very happy with mine and glad i bought it
