Hopping on the 3D bandwagon
With the likes of 3D TVs and 3D Hollywood blockbusters such as James Cameron’s much-vaunted Avatar set for release, 3D is suddenly back in vogue. And photography companies haven’t failed to take note. Step forward Fujifilm and the Real 3D W1…
To be honest 3D cameras aren’t anything new (they’ve been around since the 19th century). The Real 3D W1 works essentially as those old models did, albeit it in a more modern way. Slide down the elegant front cover and it has two lenses taking slightly different perspectives on the scene in front of you replicating what your left and right eyes see.
The modern part comes in with the two digital images combining to create a 3D image that can be viewed on the screen on the rear without the need for any nerdy green and red glasses. And remarkably it actually works. It even works with 3D video! Who needs Jim Cameron?
But is it all good? Will all cameras be hopping on the 3D bandwagon? Check out my review in the video above. And don’t forget to catch Dionne with all the latest gadget news and Ortis checking out WatZatSong!
