Has PlayStation Move already got the jump on Kinect?

Has PlayStation Move already got the jump on Kinect? Has Move already won its battle with Kinect?

E3 is drawing to a close in LA. But the gaming gathering has laid the groundwork for an almighty pre-Christmas ding dong between Microsoft and Sony. Microsoft has redubbed Project Natal as Kinect, and said it’ll land in November. Sony, however, has already got the jump on them, by announcing that its Move system will land on 15 September in the UK.

What’s more, Sony has also priced Move up, saying it’ll cost $99 Stateside, with UK prices yet to be confirmed. That’s much better than Microsoft’s failure to confirm how much Kinect would cost, while mooting that the rumoured $150 price tag was not far from the truth.

So does this mean Sony already has the jump on Microsoft? Well, yes. That’s not to say Move is better than Kinect. But getting it into gamers hands a full two months before its rival lands is a great move and one which shows Sony has learned its lessons from the epic delay of the original PS3.

Of course, gamers are a tribal bunch and Kinect is bound to do well as well. But Move’s early dawn could make a real difference in the battle for supremacy on planet gaming. Which one will you choose? Move’s magic wand or Kinect’s controller-free swipe system?

Move

PS move has the most potential in my opinion. Working with great graphics, possibly 3D it looks awesome. Kinect IMO looks like an improved eyetoy which will get boring after a while. Well from looking at what it can offer, the games so far dont appeal to me. But thats just my opinion. If move can make shooters like house of the dead il be picking it up. But still im not sure if I want any of them, but I prefer the PS Move so far (sorry Milo but your gonna have to entertain yourself)

I think that ps move will win because sony already thought of kinect with the eyetoy. Ps move is a new idea not a copied one!

Kinect is gonna be way better. And @Ben. If u say PS Move is original then you need to get ur head checked. Its just a copy of the Wii controlers!

$99 dollars though woaa! That is a great price which makes me annoyed as at this years GSL i bought a nintendo wii, i watched jasons video a few months ago when he tried it out and i have to say it looks pretty good BUT kinnect to be honest the technology is far better... i mean no controller but your body Awsome. Also i agree wiith tariq the move is a copy of the wii but a better copy at that ;)

I love the look of Playstation move, just the little things like when a gun is ready to fire or a potion ready to drink, the ball on top lights up! But the main reason I prefer Move to Kinect is that you're actually holding something, I think you'd look a bit stupid in your front room holding up your hands up like a steering wheel. I will be getting Move as soon as I can and I will also be getting Little Big Planet 2 when it comes out so I can test and epic controller on an epic game :D

They both look great but I can see the Ps3 move coming out top just due to the price and the release date, but to be honest they are both just copies, kinect is an improved eyetoy, move is just an improved nintendo wii attachment.

i think the Playstations idea's will always be better, but the little balls on the end do seem a bit stupid and childish. but the xbox kinect doesn't seem feasable if there are more than one person infront of the camera and there not actually playing. and are the ideas add ons to the consoles at the moment???

Move will outdo kinect in every way but one! Yes kinect will sell more on release but after the dust has settled down after everyones xbox has exploded or the lagging issues have driven you insane the PlayStation move with still be there wiping away the shatterd pieces of xbox and the wii has drowned in self pity the move will be the true victor!! Getting move from day 1 (way before the kinect is even released)

Sales figures aside. Playstation 3 is just generally better than the 360 in every sense, i think these add ons will go the same way too. Move for me!!

All fanboys and girls please listen... 1. PlayStation Move is more precise/accurate. 2. Greater Frame Rate than Kinect 3. Cheaper in terms of one-by-one sales, meaning you can buy one, then save up for the next, etc. etc. Foreas Kinect you must purchase ALL-IN-ONE! 4. They're both HD, COME ON! 5. They're both Wii Killers. 6. It's Sony, and Online-Gaming is free, ESPECIALLY WITH MOTION-CONTROL! XD 7. 3D and Motion is AMAZINGLY realistic, AND WITH ONLINE-PLAY! XD XD XD 8. PSN IS Free, as I sed in Point. 6, therefore SONY FTW!!!
