Episode 2 - Budget Challenge
This week on The Gadget Show Suzi and Ortis are out to save you a LOT of money – hundreds of quid are up for grabs when they go head to head in their money saving challenge to see who can find the best ways to reduce tech running costs. In part one of the challenge Suzi and Ortis take each other on in a game show, compared by Dom Joly, and get a short, sharp, shocking lesson in how much their tech actually costs to run. Suitably horrified and determined to save money, Suzi and Ortis settle into a temporary life of domestic bliss together in an average, suburban home. In their average home Ortis’ challenge was to replace his average tech with energy-saving alternatives to hopefully cut down on running costs and Suzi’s challenge was to cut down on the costs of servicing and powering the existing tech. Who will make the greatest savings? Thanks to all of these guys who made it all happen.

Liked the money saving element on the show 8 Feb 10 however switching standby TV's off can be a pain. Some digital TV's use the down time to carryout updates and if they are isolated from the power will on switch on commence a full retune which can take some time. So wilst I would love to switch my TV's off completely it is such a pain on switch waiting for the retune that I hate doing it.

Loved the RipRider 360. Got to get one but where? You quoted best price £79.99 on the programme but your link above is for £119.99 Where did you find your 'best price'. Cheers! Love the show by the way.

Thanks for tips on how to save energy at home, I especially liked "keep the fridge door closed" That's really handy because I usually leave the fridge door wide open all the time.
