Fifth Gear Gaming - Superstars V8 Next Challenge
about 1 year ago
It's the second game from the Superstars V8 series and centres around the real-life International Superstars Championship, an Italian touring car series. In this video, Graham from the Office tries out the game and gets some expert help from Fifth Gear's own games guru, Steve. To get the best possible experience they used a VisionRacer gaming chair http://uk.visionracer.com/home.html and the Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel with Clubsport pedals http://www.fanatec.de/html/index.php?id=250 .

Knowing your past TV-shows a little bit, I was actually looking forward for "someone elses" take on car/racing simulations (/games). Despite your rather lacking attempt with the Forza-3 review this piece did actually bring across some points of criticism, e.g. the single-player mode was not to be taken too seriously. As a first look into "driving games" this one finally delivers on what I would expect. What I am wondering is whether you're putting out these pieces out of genuine fun or just to test the mood? As an excited liveforspeed (www.lfs.net) addict myself, I'm not seeing quite clear as to where you want to take this. Maybe I should not expect too much since the common type of adult sim-racer enjoys "driving" in various ways. There are those devoted to realistic recreation of the driving experience & who want to actually spend some time with sharpening their skills inside a sim. On the other hand you will find a large croud of "magazine enthusiasts" who in general prefer the quality of immersion in a car-game to "real world"-like physics and competition and will probably fit the target group of the likes of "Forza 3" quite well. Are you trying to seriously look into the state of the art for driving simulation regardless of age or platform OR are you aiming at giving your usual readers/viewers a small peek into the gaming market? If you want to further want to dive into the subject, I can recommend some PC-sims (I do not own a games-console) to throw into the mix: * Richard Burns Rally (warthog) * liveforspeed * Race 07 / GTR Evolution (simbin) * rfactor (isi) * www.iracing.com Personally I own the first three. lfs was the reason for me to buy a wheel and rbr, oldie but goldie still takes first place for realism in rally racing. Thanks for reading
