Insurance on any Golf Gti would be prohibitive at 17, maybe possible at 18 but would still cost a lot...£2k+ The Capri and Astra would be more insurable but by no means the cheapest. I ran an old Merc 190E 1.8 from 18, insurance TPFT was surprisingly cheap. A good one can be picked up for as little as £800... Would rather be an accident in my Merc than any of the above...
