The flying Merc SLS

Mercedes is promoting the launch of its gullwing-door SLS supercar by hoisting one 42 metres and displaying it on the roof of the company’s museum in Stuttgart.

As this picture shows, the SLS was winched up with its roof-hinged gullwing doors wide open in what’s being seen as a rare glimpse of German humour.

The SLS will remain on the roof of the Mercedes museum until October 16. ‘This will be a very emotional experience for our visitors,’ said Michael Bock, managing director of the museum.
