New Audi S3 with S Tronic Transmission option
The Audi S3 is now available with seven speed S tonic twin-clutch transmission for the first time. Available in three and five-door versions, the twin-clutch arrangement helps to speed up shifts whilst also slowing down fuel consumption. The S3 offers 265bhp and a 0-62mph time of just 5.5 seconds with fuel consumption of 33.2mpg on the combined cycle. The S3 with S tronic transmission is available on the new S3 from the 1st October priced from £28,920 for the three-door and £29,420 for the five-door sportback model.

stronic or dsg is what they used to call it is seriously flawed, i should know i own one, just do a 20 second search on google and you'll see, the electronics are expensive to repair and go wrong often, at a cost of £2000!

I have owned an A3 Sportback Sport DSG 2.0TDI since May 2005. It has suffered no faults, no breakdowns, drives well and returns a consistent 46MPG. I am fussy but have been impressed by the A3, what could be improved is the ride quality and the storage which are both below par. Previously I owned a Mercedes which was far less impressive and nowhere near as well built. W1ggy is correct in that there is commonality in the running gear when compared to a Skoda Octavia. Still if you can afford it, shell out an extra four grand and get the better looking, more stylish, classier Audi - you'll get most of that extra back when you sell it :-) I rarely comment on reviews but Audi deserve praise for the A3. I am not affiliated in any way to V.A.G.
