Mazda designer keen to bring back RX-7

Mazda’s design boss Ikuo Maeda, who penned the Mazda 2 and RX-8, has said he wants to bring the RX-7 back according to reports.

Maeda’s father created the original RX-7 and talking to Automotive News he said, "I do have a strong yearning to revive the RX-7 during my tenure." Its believed that other Mazda officials aren’t so keen on the idea however.

Maeda also said that in order for Mazda to think about a high-end performance car there would need to be significant changes to the economy.
