Do you ever read your viewers' comments? I too would love to buy the Salomon Cosmic 4D GTX shoes -- IF I could try them of first. But it is impossible to find anywhere on Google. How about some useful information?

Brian was unfair on the Meindle as it is a mountain boot, stiff to take a crampon. I was wearing a pair last week in the Alps and if I was wearing a more flexable boot the crampon would just ping off.

The meindl is by far the best boot on test here. The problem is the testing procedure is all wrong for typical hillwalking conditions, ie steep muddy or snowy terrain. Try each boot in this environment and I think you would be happiest with your feet in the Meindls.
